Adriana's Communion Dress

When I had my First Holy Communion I was lucky enough to have a custom dress made for me which made me feel so special. I remember my mom taking me to several stores to try on these big fluffy white gowns until I found something I liked. I have a very simple style and even then I knew exactly what I didn’t like. My dress was short sleeved organza bodice with a full and very simple organza skirt. There must have been one strand of pearls around the neckline. It was so simple but to me it was the perfect princess dress!

When I got the opportunity to make Adriana’s Communion dress I imagined what I would have wanted to wear if I was a kid today. This simple French lace bodice with a few pearls and a simple organza circle skirt over a blush lining seemed so modern but very simple and classic.
